2024 AERA Annual Meeting À¶ÄñÊÓƵInvited Symposium Invitation: Call for submissions

 À¶ÄñÊÓƵLogo RGB1

As in previous years, the American Educational Research Association (AERA) has invited À¶ÄñÊÓƵto submit a representative symposium for inclusion in their annual conference – which next year will be held in person from April 11-14 in Philadelphia, PA.

As you will likely know, acceptance into the AERA program is very competitive and we are delighted that À¶ÄñÊÓƵhas the opportunity to profile some of our leading research through this process. It is also part of strengthening our links with major international educational research associations. The selected members will importantly have the honour of representing À¶ÄñÊÓƵin this international forum.

We are inviting À¶ÄñÊÓƵmembers who are interested in this opportunity to represent AARE, to submit an Expression of Interest which includes a symposium proposal (see details of AERA's specifications below) to represent À¶ÄñÊÓƵat the 2024 AERA conference.

We welcome submissions that include researchers at different career stages, and proposals that draw on international networks where approriate.

Please note that as the opportunity is to represent À¶ÄñÊÓƵin this international forum:

  • The organiser and Chair must be an À¶ÄñÊÓƵmember.
  • The lead author of all papers included must be an À¶ÄñÊÓƵmember. We understand that some papers may have international or non-member colleagues involved as co-authors.
  • The Discussant may be an À¶ÄñÊÓƵmember or non-member, for example an international colleague who is not an À¶ÄñÊÓƵmember.

At least one author of all papers included, who is an À¶ÄñÊÓƵmember, must attend the AERA conference in person to present. If this is not possible, and unless there are extenuating circumstances, À¶ÄñÊÓƵreserves the right to reverse the decision and remove support. Please ensure that all presenters understand they will be expected to attend the conference if the symposium is selected.

To support this activity, À¶ÄñÊÓƵprovides funding of up to $5000 per symposium to contribute to the travel costs of presenters. Reimbursements will be available with receipts. Members involved may decide how this support is distributed amongst the team. Only À¶ÄñÊÓƵmembers may access this support.
